Oribe Ware

Home/Store/Ceramics/Oribe Ware

Historically Oribe Ware was first made in the Mino area of central Japan in the late 16th century. Notably known for it's wondrous deep green copper glaze, Oribe Ware is also characterized by flamboyant unique styles with asymmetrical shapes and altered designs, which became a major influence in various tea ware vessels and utensils. A short lived era that made a lasting impact on Japanese ceramics style and history.
