Contemporary ceramic Yunomi by Margaret Curtis.  A yunomi is a traditional handleless japanese teacup designed for daily informal drinking. This cup features an organic, irregular form and expressive surface texture.  The exterior is covered in layers of ceramic slip and glaze that create a muted palette of deep burgundy with touches of pale sage green over a dark charcoal claybody.  This one-of-a-kind piece celebrates the beauty of imperfection with surfaces that appear ancient & vulnerable as if shaped by natural forces like fire and weather.
