^{Suzuki Tetsu was born in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture in 1964. His artwork is often covered with his signature oribe-like green copper glazeis based on Oribe ware, but he endeavors to create highly original tea ware unconstrained by the traditional rules of Japanese ceramics. His goal is not to simply replicate ancient techniques, but to enliven them with his contemporary spirit, exposing them to a new, younger generation of enthusiasts. He has been awarded several times at the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition where the top level artwork in Japan gather.}
